  • The best movie about magic

    By hucklebaryfinn
This is by far one of Christopher Nolan’s best films besides the dark knight and interstellar. This is also the best movie about magicians probably ever. Even though this movie was a little dark and sometimes confusing it still shines with great acting and amazing dialogue. Nolan does a super job with making this movie, that almost everyone thought was going to be a boring one, the opposite of boring. This movie was filled with great acting, music, and dialogue. The entire cast showed all of there acting skills in this movie. This is probably the only movie that will make you say, wow I did not see that coming. This movie also made us question if competition like this could end up in such a mess like this. In the end a great movie to watch if your felling curious and wondering what to watch.

The movie itself is pure brilliance, but be warned: The audio is PAINFULLY low. This had nothing to do with my own setup, as other itunes movies sound perfect on my system. This is something on apple's end, and I have contacted them. Again, the movie is fantastic, just be warned you may encounter audio level issues. I thought giving a lower score based solely on Apple's issue would be unfair to Nolan and this great film.

I can not describe this movie!!
  • Nolan at His Very Best!

    By Emerson Sterner
I've never seen a film by the great Christoper Nolan that I didn't like. He was best equipped to make the best Batman film series ever, he was best equipped to make one of the most mind-twising thrillers with 'Inception' and let's not forget the what 'Interstellar' brought us. But somewhere inbetween 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight' hids a film that I hadn't even heard of until I looked up Christopher Nolan's filmography and I found a film that was not only one of my directors but was starred some of the best in the business. This was such a joy for me to watch because not only was every scene with Scarlett Johannson eye candy for me, but the story had so many twists and turns that I never saw coming. This is a briliant work and I dare anyone to step forward and say that they saw the end coming!
  • Complex and interesting

The Prestige, like most of Nolan’s movies, is excellent. It features an excellent cast, good direction, and dazzling special effects. It feels mysterious and dark, and it is rather confusing, but very coherent. I wouldn’t call it Nolan’s best movie, but it is definitely worth watching.
  • Wildly Creative

Wildly creative and original. A must watch movie. If you like a movie that keeps you guessing this is for you. I was able to figure out the secret but not until late in the movie. It was when his wife said, "You mean it today." (Or something along those lines). Hopefully that doesn't spoil anything for anyone.
  • amazing

in the beginning, i was thinking: this movie is totally overrated. its not even that interesting. but it captures the true nature of what movies were supposed to be in the first place. most movies today have an intense, climactic ending, while this movie just keeps picking up speed, becoming more interesting as the plot delves deeper and darker and even though one can’t seem to grapple which character they support, you’ll love this movie and its mind blowing ending. some people say its hard to understand. its really not. if you just pay attention, then you will completely understand it, even though the various jumping around between the years will be confusing. the plot of this requires geniuses at the same level as those of the dark knight. i only have one grievance: if they made this movie today it would’ve been slightly better because i feel that both hugh jackman and scarlett johannson’s acting has developed and become a lot better over the last nine years.

That is the best way to describe my reaction to the film, which is quite possibly the best ITunes purchase I have made in a while. I am writing this very soon after seeing this. And after having my mind blown. The setting of this film, a subject I am not prone to speaking of, worked so well and made the movie that much more incredible and fantasizing. It was an enthralling, mind-blowing experience. You think you know what is going to happen. But are you watching closely? Because this film took turns and routes that are so unexpected. You want to know what is happening, and yet you don't. Because you want to be fooled. The performances were great, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson and all the rest performed a dazzling trick. Sucking you in, and making you believe everything. It is superbly directed by Christopher Nolan, a director I am now quite fond of, who manages to make a masterpiece in almost all of his films for me. This movie looks great, it is a film I don't want to end as well. But the ending itself, was just amazing. If you did not want to be surprised but weren't, don't be mad. Because even if you do watch closely, you cannot predict this film. See it for yourself and you will know how just plain masterful this film is. And remember what I have been saying for most of this review. Remember what the movie's tagline, and one of its big parts. Remember to watch closely.

Simply one of Nolan's best, most creative, intriguing films. Top notch acting of both main characters!!!
