  • The critics are idiots - great movie!

Great acting in this film by all, including (of course) Timothee Chalamet. Hauntingly well done; you’ll be thinking about this story and these characters long after the movie is over.
  • Amazing movie

Like the plot and of course why I rented it(Timothy). Amazing acting across the board. Sadly the ending for me wasn’t your average romance. Kind of dumb/sad.
  • A fun escape

Timothée gets in over his head as a weed dealer after a tragedy sends him to Cape Cod in the summer of 1991. I enjoyed the film and it’s retro soundtrack. The romantic subplot is charming and is woven discretely alongside his hustling with new friend Alex Foe. The best part of the film is the mirrored self destruction between friends as a way of coping with grief. Again, Timothée Chalamet proving his acting is remarkable

I loved this movie so much I watched it two days in a row. Being from MA I really enjoyed laughing at the slang terminology used and appreciated all the F words. :) The love stories are sweet and made me envious and Daniel makes all girls want to find their own cocky, dorky, drug dealer. The story line kept me hooked and glued to the screen. My only tip...don’t rent it, buy it, cause you’ll want to watch it more than once.

hot summer nights is a fun, self-aware, uneven coming-of-age shapeshifter that both attempts to relish in and simultaneously upend the genre by trying on every look that we've come to expect from it. Constructed as escalating and untrustworthy high school rumors, it is a film about exploitative white privilege, the confusing and maximilist charges of adolescense, mythologizing people in service of personal desire, and falling in love with your idols.

For this being Bynum’s first directorial debut, it’s a pretty good movie. Although this film has a bad percentage on rotten tomatoes, it’s not bad. If your going to critique the film then you’ll notice some flaws but if you watch it just as an audience member, this film is enjoyable. Timothée, Alex, Maika, and Maia’s performances were great, and this is a good coming-of-age story about a boy who wants the girl and some weed.
